

Dr. Bebermeyer has taught general and restorative dentistry at The University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston since 1983. He has had the privilege of serving as dental educator, interim chair, vice chair and, more recently, chair of a large and diverse department. The Department of Restorative Dentistry and Biomaterials is engaged in teaching courses which include: preclinical operative dentistry and dental anatomy, practice management, ethics, jurisprudence, esthetic dentistry, clinical operative dentistry clinical general dentistry, post-doctoral general dentistry, biomaterials and more.
Prior to his appointment at The University of Texas, Dr. Bebermeyer taught at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and at the Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine. He served for four years as a general dentist in the U.S. Navy prior to beginning his teaching career.
Dr. Bebermeyer has received Dean's Teaching Excellence Awards, the Dean's Teaching Excellence Master Teacher Award, and the John P. McGovern Outstanding Teacher Award. In 2009, Dr. Bebermeyer was selected to receive The (UTHealth) President's Award for Mentoring Women.
Dr. Bebermeyer's scholarly interests include evidence-based health care, professional ethics, restorative dentistry, and infection control and prevention in dentistry.
