An additional refrigerator and three microwave ovens have been added to the Student Lounge on the third floor of The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston, thanks to the help of the UTSD Family & Friends Association.

A large double-door refrigerator and the microwaves were installed this month, with the association defraying part of the $5,000 price tag for the appliances.

The lounge was already equipped with two refrigerators and four microwaves, but that was insufficient for the hundreds of students who work long days at the school and bring their lunches, said Phil Pierpont, DDS, associate dean for student and alumni affairs.  Read more
