University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston Professor and Associate Dean for Patient Care Robert “Bob” Cederberg, MA, DDS, has been sworn in for a one-year term as president of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (AAOMR). The ceremony took place Oct. 5 at the group’s annual banquet, held this year in the Stardust Ballroom at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.

“I’m extremely honored to be leading the academy and to follow in the footsteps of some very well-known and talented radiologists before me,” Cederberg said. “I’ve served the academy for many years in various positions, but never really thought becoming president was a possibility, so this is a pretty big deal for me.”

Cederberg earned his master’s degree at Southern Methodist University in 1976 and his DDS at Baylor College of Dentistry in 1979.

AAOMR is a professional association committed to ethical, evidence-based and high quality oral and maxillofacial diagnostic services to the referred public. The academy aims to promote and advance the art and science of radiology in dentistry, and to provide a forum for communication among its members, to the healthcare community and to the public.

The AAOMR conducts continuing education programs, including the annual scientific session, and sponsors a scientific journal publication, “OOOOE,” publishes a newsletter, “AAOMR Image,” issues guidelines, and pursues additional activities consistent with the academy’s purpose academy.
